In this post I’m going to show you how to enable Face ID and Touch ID on WordPress in a way that you can use passwordless login system on your site. When you enable it on your site, you can log in with a simple action.
Step 1: Install “Passwordless WP – Login with your glance or fingerprint” plugin
It’s a free plugin and you can download it here. This plugin allows you to set up you preferred passwordless login method. For example:
- Face ID
- Touch ID
- Windows Hello
- Fingerprint
- etc
It works well with all majord broswers and it is really easy to set up.
Step 2: Create your credentials
After installing activating the plugin you need to log in with your device you want to enable the passwordless login. For example, log in with your iPhone, open up your profile page and scroll down. There you’ll find “passwordless Login Credentials” section.
Just click on the Register New Token button and activate your preferred method. See the screenshot below.
Step 3: Log out and test it
Well, basically everything you need to do is done, and therefore just log out and test it by logging in again with your Touch ID or Face ID.
